FROM OSHAWA / TORONTO:
Take Hwy 401 to Hwy 115 and follow it north almost to Peterborough. Exit at Hwy 28 / Port Hope exit and turn right (north). Proceed down the straight stretch and up the hill (two lanes - keep to the left).
Continue straight through four sets of stoplights, the last of which is Parkhill Road.
At the top of the hill at the end of the stretch past Parkhill Road turn right onto Lily Lake Road.
Continue straight - long stretch of country road to a 4-way stop on a high hill.
Straight on another (shorter) stretch of country road to
another 4 way stop. Straight up the hill, down the other side, a sharp bend then traffic lights. Straight through then to a 4-way stop, then straight to a "T" intersection.
Turn left at the "T" onto Hilliard. Take the first right (Franklin) and keep on it until you come to a stop sign. Turn right onto Cumberland.
Go up a short hill then down the long slope until you reach
the first street past the crest of the hill. Turn
right onto Royal Drive. 1325 is the second house on the
right - it has barrels in front of the house.
FROM OTTAWA:
Follow Hwy 7 until you reach the outskirts of Peterborough. Follow Highway 7 down Lansdowne Street (keep going and you will be on this street). Follow Lansdowne over the bridge over the river, and around a curve. The second set of lights after the curve is George Street. On your left between the two sets of lights is the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
Turn right onto George Street and follow it. You will be forced to turn right onto a one-way street heading north. This is Water Street. Keep following Water Street until it merges back into 2-way traffic (a fair distance). The first set of lights after the return to two-way traffic is a "T" intersection with Marina Boulevard. {At this intersection you will see the filtration plant up the river.} Turn left onto Marina Boulevard. Go up the hill until you reach the first street on the right side. This is Royal Drive. 1325 is the second last house on the left. In the summer, look for grapevines growing up the side of the wall, and there are winebarrels in front of the house.
FROM PARTS EAST:
Follow Hwy 401 to the Port Hope exit # 464, turn right. Follow up Highway 28. When you pass the exit for Highway 115 follow the instructions from Toronto/Oshawa above.
FROM PARTS NORTH:
Follow Hwy 28 into Peterborough. As you begin to enter Peterborough, you will see a carwash and a Tim Horton's on the right, then, as you enter the 50 km zone, you will see the Zoo on the left. Go straight through the lights at the zoo and to the next set of lights. This is Marina Blvd. Turn right onto Marina then right onto the first street, Royal Drive. 1325 is the second last house on the left. Yes, you are doubling back. If you know the shortcut it might save about a minute. If you don't, God help you in the wilds of Smith Township...
FROM PARTS WEST:
Follow Hwy 7 from Lindsay through Omemee to Fowler's Corners. Keep straight at Fowler's Corners and follow old Hwy 7 until you reach a "T"-intersection. Turn right onto Chemong Road and follow it to the first set of lights. Turn left onto a country road. Turn right onto Hilliard at the end of the road. Take the first left, turning onto Cumberland. Go up the steep hill, down the other side, up the next rise and then turn right at the first road past the second hill.
This is Royal- 1325 is the second house on the right.
