LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Medium Bodied Red Wine

2006 Shiraz
Tech Information: 12-18-07 $ 19.95 (S: 0 A: 13.0) Winery

"DATE: 01-01-08 Appearance: Ruby.
Nose: Dark cherry, olive, redcurrant and nice peppery spicy oak.
Palate: Dry with moderate acidity, midweight plus. Much bigger in the mouth than either the colour or nose suggests, you can add the traditional syrah/shiraz meaty/earthy/rubbery character midpalate, and moderate ripe tannins to the long clean finish.
Conclusions: Not quite Australian in weight, but rather a more elegant presentation, probably much more useful at the table than those creations that Oz ships to Ontario." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Not just in Australia anymore! This big, bold red, is full of dark fruit flavours, red currant, and liquorice with a hint of spice. This is the wine you bring home to show off. Enjoy it now or lay down for 6 to 8 years...if you can! Enjoy with prime rib, peppered steak or roast venison."
