LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Medium Bodied Red Wine
2004 Gamay Noir
Tech Information: 02-10-06 $ 16.00 (S: 0 A: 12.8) Winery

"DATE: 02-07-06 Appearance: Light ruby.
Nose: Strawberry, cherry and light spiciness.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight (big for Gamay). Great fruit on the attack, mouthfilling flavours, clean midpalate, very light tannins on the long clean finish.
Conclusions: Clean lovely drinking wine that would only be out of place with heavier foods. This should age 2-4 years, much longer than most of the wines produced from this variety. There is also a chance that in 3 years this may develop strong pinot-ish flavours and go even longer, but I don't have experience in County-grown Gamay. This wine is a good recommendation for Gamay grown in the County." lfw
