"DATE: 09-24-08 retasted 11-19-08 same note Appearance: Inky purple.
Nose: Deep brooding rich nose of blackberry, smoky oak, blueberry, spices light chocolate and herbs.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate follows the nose, but is at the same time both more citrusy and softer than the nose suggests. Big flavours, deep black fruit (sweet cherry) with light to moderate dusty tannins on the midpalate. Very good long clean dry finish with a great tobacco/cedar/smoky aftertaste.
Conclusions: Nice blend of red hybrids that is bigger, more Northern Italian in feel than a similar blend would be from most producers in Ontario. Good for eight to ten years putting on weight as it goes. Very nice wine for a fireside about January 2011. Pair with bigger more flavourful meat and pasta dishes." lfw
