wine chemistry at work Tech Information: 04-20-10 $ 13.50 / 500 ml (S: 0 A: 12.5) Winery

"DATE: 04-20-10 Appearance: Dense violet.
Nose: Rich smoky black fruit (cassis, sweet cherry, blackberry, ripe purple plum) with spicy oak notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Palate follows the nose, adding light dusty tannins, zesty notes and a richness to the midpalate. Finish is long, dry and clean and is followed by a mineral note on the aftertaste.
Conclusions: An excellent followup to the very nice 2005, with this from perhaps riper fruit, softer, more mellow at two and a half than its predecessor was. Should reach ten years of age in excellent shape (properly stored) and is already drinking nicely. A great companion for flavourful foods (and would this ever suit a burger-with-the-works at a summer BBQ!)." lfw
