"DATE: 10-19-08 {BARREL SAMPLE} Appearance: Ruby.
Nose: Cherry, plum, spicy oak, deep brooding fruit, light earthy notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate follows the nose adding strong dusty tannins on the midpalate. Long aftertaste is an ongoing interplay between fruitiness and tannins.
Conclusions: Very young (at this point almost aggressive) pinot which should go a long time (seven or eight years). Right now it needs a big hunk of rare red meat to reduce the effects of the tannins, but should mellow in time. May have flavours disappear for a year or two about 2010, but they should be back by 2012. This is normal Pinot behavious in the cellar." lfw
