"DATE: 05-13-08 Appearance: Straw.
Nose: Spicy peach/apricot fruit with floral and mineral notes.
Palate: Off dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate follows the nose, with a silkiness on the midpalate and a good long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Nicely balanced wine (fruit/alcohol/sugar) should go 3-4 years in a good cellar. Almost a substitute for gewurztraminer, though less obviously spicy. Would fit a very wide range of foods and situations, might be a hit as an upscale wedding wine." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"This internationally recognized, award winning, wine was made from 100% Vancouver Island grown Ortega grapes -- which are becoming a signature varietal for our region. We are especially pleased to get this award, given this is our first year of operation.

This medium body wine has beautiful floral and tropical fruit aromas. You will find flavours of peach, mandarin orange and banana with a unique finish of nutmeg and white pepper. This wine pairs beautifully with fish, shellfish, white meats and sharp cheeses."
