wine chemistry at work Tech Information: 12-04-07 $ 17.95 (S: 0 A: 12.4) Winery

"DATE: 01-01-08 Appearance: Ruby with pink tints.
Nose: Cherry/strawberry/blueberry with subtle oak notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Very attractive gamay follows the nose, with nice mineral and herbal flavours on the midpalate, and a good long clean finish.
Conclusions: Gamay trying very hard to be Pinot, this could easily age into a good Pinot style wine inmuch the same way as top Cru Beaujolais can approach top Cote D'Or Burgundies. Drink it now for youthful exuberance, or cellar it for three or four years to discover a much more interesting wine. Be warned that somewhere in 2009 or so it could go into a trough, where the flavours will seem to have disappeared. This is normal with this type of wine." lfw
