wine chemistry at work Tech Information: 09-09-08 $ 12.99 (S: 0 A: 12) Winery

"DATE: 09-15-08 Appearance: Inky purple.
Nose: Blackberry, cranberry, blueberry, herbs and light dark chocolate.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate nicely follows the nose, but is softer than expected. Silky with some softness and light dusty tannins on the midpalate, with a good clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Fairly priced good-quality foch will age well for another six years, and is best now with flavourful foods. Foch gets much softer and easier to drink with age, though many afficionadoes prefer it for its youthful exuberance. Not for those who like the big-name Australian wines." lfw
