"DATE: 09-15-08 Appearance: Sparkling ruby.
Nose: Black cherry, spicy oak, light chocolate, cedar, a mineral note.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate nicely follows the nose, with a silkiness and light dusty tannins on the midpalate, and a very long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Very nice food red molded somewhat in a Northern Italian style. Best with pasta or rare meats at this stage, this will age into a good stand-alone drinker in another three years then last another four. Very nicely done. Five years ago I didn't believe that there was enough heat in this area to ripen this variety. This wine makes a mockery of my prejudice." lfw
