"DATE: 08-27-07 Appearance: Purple.
Nose: Cedar, cassis, raspberry, licorice and sweet oak with a nice herbal undertone.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Palate follows the nose with aggressive but ripe tannins on the midpalate and through the very long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Youthful big wine with a ten year future. Great now with a rare good quality cut of ber, great alone in five years when it mellows and comes together. In style it is midway between old world and new." lfw

Man that's one big bottle!!FOOD MATCHES: Chef Franklin said "big wine seeking big flavours. Wonderful with medium rare roasts of spice-rubbed veal, aged angus beef or a tapenade rubbed shoulder of lamb all with reduction sauces spiked with capers."

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Shows a rich ruby colour and plenty of licorice, berry and mineral character. The mid to full body has super tannins and a long finish.

Suggested food pairings: Rich, savoury and meaty stews; gorgonzola or blue cheese sauces and thick cuts of grilled red meats."
