LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Medium Bodied Red Wine

2006 Cabernet Franc
Tech Information: 11-13-08 $ 18.20 (S: 0 A: 11.9) Winery

"DATE: 11-20-08 Appearance: Ruby with light mahogany forming at the rim.
Nose: Red peppers, raspberry, blueberry, sweet oak and a pleasant herbal/floral note.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate nicely follows the nose. Fresh citrus and a bit of buttery/vanilla character on the attack, with light dusty tannins and silkiness on the midpalate and a very long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Great food wine, a bit austere now but will mellow in two years and live another five after that. I want this with a good gourmet pizza now, or by itself in three." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"With deep ruby colour displaying ripe red fruits and vanilla aromas, this well structured wine has soft tannins and a lengthy finish. Aged 20 months in a combination of French and American oak, it pairs well with tomato based pasta dishes or a good cheddar."
