"DATE: RETASTED 04-11-09 Add strawberry to the nose and a nice mineral touch to the finish. 11-20-08 Appearance: Ruby.
Nose: Black cherry, plum, spicy, floral and herbal notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight (big for gamay). Rich ripe palate follows the nose, with silky mouthfeel and light dusty tannins on the midpalate. Very long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Big gamay to put up against gamay from anywhere. I was fortunate enough to make wine from the same grapes, and remember eating a lot of them on the way home, tasting the sweet cherries that came out in this wine and my own. Slightly grapy at this point, but should last six or seven years, very unusual for gamay. I suspect this wine will taste like great pinot by 2012." lfw
