"DATE: 08-12-08 Appearance: Purple.
Nose: Big baco nose of black cherry, cranberry, blueberry, light spicy oak, a bit earthy.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Big palate is softer than you'd expect from the nose, adding some raspberry as well as light ripe tannins on the midpalate. Good clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Soft modern (but not tame) Baco. Man have they changed in the last ten years, but they are still quite ageworthy (this one 7-8 years). Try this with flavourful foods, or with anything with tomato paste, or bbq foods - load on the condiments as much as you like." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"If the deep scarlet hue of this wine is an indicator, you can tell this wine is going to be rich and bold just by looking at it! On the nose, this wine is rich and earthy - imagine you're in a damp orchard - with the smell of ripe plums and cherries, as well as damp earth and foliage, and maybe someone's smoking a cigar or pipe nearby, as there are underlying sweet smoky notes. On the palate, this wine has soft tanin and a good core of acidity, but mirrors the nose exactly - plum, cherry, earth and sweet smoke. A great wine for anything grilled, especially burgers! Drink now or age until 2011-2012."
