"DATE: 03-30-07 Appearance: Ruby.
Nose: Cassis, peppers, raspberry, cherry, spicy oak, cedar and bits of chocolate.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Sweet cherry on the attack, with the rest of the nose following in order. Dusty tannins are not quite integrated yet, but are not out of balance either. Long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Great value Cab Merlot would do very well with tomato-based pasta dishes, rare meats (or dare I say it at a bbq with dogs and burgers!). This inexpensive cab merlot is also ageworthy, good for another five years. This should turn into a complex wine in time, but at this price enjoy! More in a classic than a modern style - and even better value because of it." lfw
