Nose: Baked apple, spicy oak, light butter, light tropical fruit.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Palate greatly exceeds the nose, with rich ripe concentrated fruit on the attack. Midpalate has ripe tannins, a bit of warmth and light astringency to counterbalance the big fruit, nice overall balance. Finish is very long, clean and dry.
Conclusions: Nicely balanced ageworthy (8 years) chardonnay for many purposes. Could stand fairly flavourful foods now, will be a stand-alone wine in four years." lfw
