"DATE: 04-18-08 Appearance: Straw with green tints.
Nose: Fruit salad (peach/pineapple/orange zest/grapefruit/strawberry/cherry) with great spicy and floral notes, very interesting.
Palate: Off-dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate nicely follows the nose (perhaps less sweet than the nose suggests). Nice silky character midpalate, with mineral and citrus notes on the long clean finish.
Conclusions: Primarily Geisenheim 318-57 with a bit of Prairie Star, this is the kind of wine that makes VQA regulations seem out of date already. This wine cannot be VQA approved because of the varieties. May be time for VQA to step into the 1990's? In any case the wine should go four to five years longer, but to my taste is best now when it is sassy, fresh and fruity. My personal favourite of the Coffin Ridge collection. This could oh-so-easily substitute for Gewurztraminer..." lfw
