wine chemistry at work Tech Information: 05-30-09 $ 18.80 (S: 5 A: 6.1) Winery

"DATE: 05-29-09 Appearance: Lemon with medium small mousse.
Nose: Spicy bready pear/apricot with mineral notes.
Palate: Off dry with good acidity, lightweight. Palate follows the nose. Nice pear fruit on the attack, with creamy/bready flavours on the midpalate. Good clean finish with some sweet fruit on the aftertaste.
Conclusions: Love this style of low-alcohol sparkler, and this wine proves that pear is a suitable base. Call is Asti Pearmonty if you will, but drink it lightly chilled in the great outdoors somewhere, this year or next." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Nose: Light carbonation in a frizzante style, that lifts the rich pear flavours to give the impression of pear, peach, honey and melon.

Palate: Medium dry, rich mousse explosion of fruit in the mouth, that suggests creamy pear and apple-maple flavours. The flavour intensity is medium bodied ripe fruit. The acid balance suggests lemon-pear that persists to a very enjoyable long finish. This wine comes across drier then the sugar code suggests."
