"DATE: 08-28-07 Appearance: Purple.
Nose: Raspberry, sweet cherry, plum, sweet and spicy oak, light chocolate, complex already but not yet fully integrated.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Big merlot follows the nose nicely, adding quite ripe tannins and silkiness to rich mouthfeel midpalate. Very long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Worthy successor to the CEV Merlots from 1999, 2000 and 2002 that have established something of a reign of terror over a number of tastings of Canada vs. top Bordeaux. Tasting good now, but will certainly come together in 2009 to be as good as it's predecessors. Very good value at this price." lfw
