11:00 Break

11:10 am: Speaker # 1, Margaret Appleby, "Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs" discussed various items relating to viticulture in cold-climate areas, including virus diseases and applying for funding sources like the Greenbelt project.

11:30 am: Speaker # 2, Dan Sullivan, Rosehall Run Winery, PEC made a presentation about starting his small winery in The County, followed by a Question and Answer period.

12:30 pm: Lunch - each person threw in $10 and a couple of volunteers went shopping. Many interesting wines were open for sampling then and later, including both commercial and amateur efforts.

1:00 pm: Weather Records, Crops & Soils and other information: Neil Moore , now retired from OMAFRA, led us in an interesting discussion of items of interest between COVA and the Ontario Soils and Crops groups, including historical information and potential contacts.

1:30: Research Project: COVA and TCCBE project involving research by Trent University student Greg Turner, a geography student of Dr. Colin Taylor, who is preparing weather charts for future use, and will be making recommendations about which varieties to plant in certain locations.

2:00 p.m. A Group Discussion of funding opportunities in the Greenbelt was dealt with at length.

A committee was set up to further investigate this potential, consisting of Bert Andrews, Carl Kimmett, Larry Paterson, Dr. Liang Liu, Maureen Hubble-Davidson, Matt Passafiume, Dr. Neil Lamont and Rob Davidson.
