"DATE: 08-18-07 Appearance: Garnet.
Nose: Elderberry for sure, right down to the bit of rubberiness I always associate with it (I have to declare that I don't like elderberries, sorry!).
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Soft and fruity, richness midpalate, and a long clean finish. Nice alcohol/acid/fruit/sugar balance.
Conclusions: Even though my favourite elderberry wine was served in an old movie "Arsenic and Old Lace" I am compelled to admit that this is a well-made example, without the over-the-top flavours sometimes encountered with this fruit. Not for long keeping, drink by, say, 2010, but I can see those who like the basic flavour enjoying this greatly with medium red meat dishes, or by itself." lfw
