"DATE: 11-28-08 Appearance: Bright ruby.
Nose: Elderberry for sure, some spicy, resinous and herbal notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate nicely follows the nose, with soft rich notes on the midpalate, and a long clean finish. Nice alcohol/acid/fruit/sugar balance.
Conclusions: Even though my favourite elderberry wine was served in an old movie "Arsenic and Old Lace" I am compelled to admit that this is still a well-made example, without the over-the-top flavours sometimes encountered with this fruit. Not for long keeping, drink by, say, 2011, but I can see those who like the basic flavour enjoying this greatly with medium red meat dishes, or by itself." lfw
