LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Medium Bodied Red Wine

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon
Tech Information: 04-11-09 $ 18.00 (S: 0 A: 13) Winery

"DATE: 04-11-09 tasted during 2009 Ontario Wine Awards Judging
Appearance: Ruby.
Nose: Sweet oak, light dill, earthy notes, chocolate, cassis, dark plum.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Palate follows the nose but it more austere than expected. Dusty light tannins dominate the midpalate at this point. Finish is very good long clean and dry.
Conclusions: Nice cab from a region that cool years don't hurt much (near Lake Erie south of Windsor). This has a seven or eight year future, and is mellowing a bit now, but will soften by 2011. Food wine for now, try it alone in a couple of years. Not a modern soft and easy type." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"With an enticing nose of berries and toasty oak this fruity wine lures you in. Initially its burst of fruitiness tricks the mouth into thinking it is sweet but the finish is quick and dry, with a slight herbaceous quality, making this Cab Sauv a great wine for dinner."
