"DATE: 07-09-07 Appearance: Deep straw.
Nose: Vanilla, butter, sweet oak, highly concentrated. Baked apple, pear, pineapple, rich nutty notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, heavyweight. Huge chard follows the nose well, complex, rich, fat, heavy monster chard. Very long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Not for all tastes, this is a huge mature chardonnay which could go another five years, developing even more of the funky flavours it now shows. How old do you like your cheese? This is a similar situation, one that only the best Chardonnays aged properly can get to." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Selected from our Chardonnay block as our optimum grapes at harvest. This wine was fermented and aged in new oak. A strong acid backbone and the contributions of the barrel tannins support the texture and weight of this Chardonnay. The nose is dominated by the vanilla character of the barrel with just a hint of apple, roasted hazelnut and pineapple impressions."
