"RETASTED: 07-09-07 Appearance: Deep ruby/purple.
Nose: Still fascinating, still shows all the elements below, plus raspberry.
Palate: No need to change a word below.
Conclusions: Still youthful at 6 years of age, I may have underestimated its longevity. Lets say it should have no trouble reaching 15." lfw

"DATE: 05-11-05 Appearance: Purple.
Nose: Deep red pepper, chocolate, leather, spicy oak, a nuttiness and blackberry.
Palate: Dry with moderate acidity, a heavyweight. Intense rich dark fruit, brooding deep flavours that follow the nose. Big midpalate, long clean finish.
Conclusions: Top drawer Cab Franc with a future. This is built bigger than most, with everything necessary to reach its tenth birthday in excellent shape. A serious wine for serious collectors. Not for the meek." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Our 2001 Cabernet Franc promises to be an outstanding vintage. Rich ruby red in color, cherry to the nose and palate, followed by plum, mint with just a hint of raspberry. A reduced crop, old vines and barrel ageing in oak for 24 months, really rounds out the flavour. Recommended for cellaring."
