"DATE: 04-11-09 (tasted during 2009 Ontario Wine Awards Judging
Appearance: Purple.
Nose: Soft nose of sweet oak, raspberry, tar, blackberry and light earthy notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, heavyweight. Palate follows the nose. Big soft flavours on the midpalate with ripe tannins and a bit of warmth on the long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Soft and easy blend from a ripe year with a five year future or maybe more. Soft enough for drinking now, but has enough to develop further with time." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"This Cabernet Shiraz displays a rich bouquet of dark berry fruit and peppery notes. The palate is smooth in texture, showing concentrated flavours of plum and cassis complemented by an undercurrent of spicy layers. Enjoy it with mild pepperoni pizza, mild to medium grilled Italian sausages or veal scaloppini."

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Dense red in colour, this medium bodied Cabernet Merlot exhibits a bouquet of dark, lightly peppered, ripe fruits. The wine is approachable despite its youth showing green bell pepper, more fruit layers and spice on the palate. It is well balanced with good acidity and the finish already longs for the next sip. Decant to drink now or within the next two to three years."
