LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Heavy Bodied Red Wine

2005 Reserve Baco Noir
Tech Information: 12-04-07 $ 15.00 (S: 0 A: 14.5) Winery

"DATE: 12-31-07 Appearance: Inky purple.
Nose: Big black cherry, with cran/blueberry notes, spicy oak and a good herbal character.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Big flavours follow the nose, adding a plummy character, rich softness on the midpalate, and light dusty tannins on the good clean finish.
Conclusions: Ageworthy baco could go eight to ten years in a good cellar, turning into an interesting stand-alone wine. Best now with foods, rarer better than well done at this point. This grape should be grown more in the southwest, where it can properly ripen every year, as this has." lfw
