"DATE: 04-14-07 Appearance: Straw.
Nose: Sweet and spicy oak, baked apple, butter and good vegetal character that older chards sometimes develop.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Big buttery/oaky style on the attack, with fruit that is more tropical than the nose suggests. Some warmth as well. Dusty tannins dry the long clean finish.
Conclusions: Nicely maturing big style of chardonnay is ageing well, and still has a few years in front of it. Good acid balance will allow this another five years, but it will get funky and complex by that time." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Notes of pineapple and pear highlight the natural, fresh character of our bench-grown Chardonnay. The balance comes from the crisp cool-climate growing conditions and light, toasty flavours that linger on the palate. A long finish makes this a great food wine."
