LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Rose Wine
2006 Summer Rose
Tech Information: 08-13-07 $ 9.95 (S: 0 A: 11) Winery

"DATE: 08-24-07 Appearance: Salmon / cranberry.
Nose: Strawberry, cherry/plum and grapefruit.
Palate: Dry with moderate to good acidity, light to midweight. Palate nicely follows the nose, with some richness and softness added to light tannins on the midpalate. Good clean finish.
Conclusions: Fruit/acid/alcohol are balanced to the food side of the Rose equation here, and this wine could last two to three years in a good cellar. But there is no point to ageing this, as its appeal lies in the fruity food-friendliness of the wine. Ageing would make it heavier and more complex, less food friendly. Try this with light summery foods, or drink it alone. Nicely done." lfw
FOOD MATCHES: Chef Franklin said "lovely lightly chilled for a picnic of freshly baked baguette topped with just off the vine tomatoes, a sliver of sheep’s milk cheese and a slice of proscuitto. Fine with lighter game – especially roasted birds with a reduction of stock enriched with berries and butter."
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Fresh aromas of strawberry and raspberry dominate, while a hint of citrus lingers in the background for a fresh, crisp taste. This Rosé is nicely balanced with a slight touch of rose petal sweetness on the finish, making it a perfect match for summer barbeques or for sipping on its own.ing it a perfect wine to enjoy with friends!"
