LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Medium Bodied Red Wine
2005 Baco Noir
Tech Information: 12-04-07 $ 14.95 (S: 0 A: 12) Winery

"DATE: 01-01-08 Appearance: Deep purple.
Nose: Rich blue/cranberry nose with raspberry highlights, sweet oak and nice herbal/floral notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Biggish palate follows the nose, adding cherry and cassis to the nose. Rich silky touches midpalate, with a good long dry finish.
Conclusions: Big funky baco (on the wild side, not a modern style) will age well (8 years plus). Had a 1989 Baco Noir on New Years Eve 2008 (last night) which was in wonderful shape, and this wine shows some similar character. Would work well now with rich red meats, but not overly well done." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Rich, full flavour, with deep currant flavour and blackberries. A vintage year resulting in an exceptional Baco Noir of reserve quality that will age wonderfully in a wine cellar. Matched with grilled or roast red meats, lamb, dark poultry, tomato based pastas and cheeses."
