"DATE: 05-11-09 tasted during 2009 All Canadian Wine Awards Judging Appearance: Ruby.
Nose: Sweet oak with moderate raspberry, redcurrant and herbal notes.
Palate: Dry with moderate to good acidity, midweight plus. Palate follows the nose. Soft ripe fruit on the attack, with moderate chocolate and dusty tannins on the midpalate. Very long clean dry finish has a pleasant astringency.
Conclusions: A soft franc already drinking nicely. Try with a herbal/spicy pasta dish, bbq or summer events. Good for another five years but no need to wait." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"A very full-bodied and flavourful wine with deep rich colour. Fruity with ripe red berry flavours. Smokey aromas attest to time in American oak. Tremendous vitality. Decent tannins and length mean it also cellars well."
