LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Off Dry Fruity White Wine
2006 Pinot Gris
Tech Information: 08-13-07 $ 18.00 (S: 1 A: 11.8) Winery

"DATE: 04-14-07 Appearance: Very pale lemon.
Nose: Light melon/lemon, vinous, undeveloped at this date.
Palate: Off-dry with good acidity, light to midweight. Much deeper fruit on the palate (add peaches, apricot, and a mineral character to those suggested on the nose). Big soft mouthfeel, much more flavour than the nose suggests. Good clean long finish.
Conclusions: Very young off-dry and fruity style of Pinot Grigio which is loveable, and would work with many food and social situations. Would be a great choice for a summer wedding, or dining alfresco. This is a baby in diapers that will develop much more character by its first birthday, and last a couple of years more." lfw
FOOD MATCHES: Chef Franklin said "easy going character, plenty of fruit and light acidity make it ideal for supermarket roast chicken picnicking or fresh baguette piled high with thinly sliced roast pork loin, aged cheddar and apples."
FROM THE PRODUCERS: "Pale in colour, delicately fragrant and mildly floral with lemon-citrus flavours along with traces of pear. This off-dry Pinot Gris is bursting with juicy flavours on the palate accompanied by beautiful, crisp acidity."
