wine chemistry at work Tech Information: 10-10-07 $ 30.00 (S: 0 A: 13) Winery

"DATE: 10-26-07 Appearance: Light straw with hints of green.
Nose: Lemon lime, spicy peach/pear and floral notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Rich palate follows the nose, adding tropical fruit and a full ripe (almost a bit of fat) midpalate. Rich clean long finish with a bit of warmth.
Conclusions: Nice wine is of an unusual variety for Ontario, and this is quite a treat. A warning about Viognier: it would "seem" to be ageworthy, but all the literature suggests that it cannot age for more than 2-3 years, normally falling apart despite building blocks of acid, fruit and extract that would normally suggest ageworthiness. Enjoy it by 2009." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS: "Intense notes of lemon and pear with lots of spice and floral. Super rich flavours of peach, apricot, lemon-lime and spices, creamy on the palate with a long lingering finish."
