"DATE: 04-11-09 tasted during 2009 Ontario Wine Awards Judging
Appearance: Light purple.
Nose: Sweet oak, ripe plum, cherry, vanilla, leather and earthy notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, light to midweight. Palate follows the nose. Midpalate has a food-friendly austerity, with tight tannins dominating at this early stage. Finish is long clean and dry.
Conclusions: A young blend of I-know-not-what is not yet developed, although it has good weight and balance. This will be a food wine which should go six to eight years in a good cellar, developing more character enroute." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Winemakers’ Tasting Notes: The nose of this wine has fruit-focused aromatics of red raspberries and sour cherries, complimented by violet, toasted oak and notes of vanilla. Medium bodied, soft tannins and a round mid-palate are followed on the palate with red berry and spice flavours."
