A tale of four 2004 Pinots: Clone 114     Clone 667     Clone 777     The Blend   the blend is composed of the other three wines.



"DATE: 08-25-07 Appearance: Ruby with a bit of brick at the edge.
Nose: Cherry, raspberry, spicy oak, not earthy. Most powerful nose of the four, least complex.
Palate: Dry with good to fresh acidity, midweight. Palate follows the nose, fruitiest and cleanest of the four, more like a peppery gamay than a pinot almost, least complex.
Conclusions: All four wines are very high quality, and interesting in their own right. All are foodworthy, and all should reach eight years in a cellar in good condition.

This really reminds me of a Cru Beaujolais rather than a Pinot, lovely by itself, and my choice of the most enjoyable for the next two years, but maybe the least complex of the four. Has great Drink-me-ability." lfw
