"DATE: 08-25-07 Appearance: Garnet.
Nose: Clean sweet cherry, blackberry, plum, spicy oak and a mineral character.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Palate nicely follows the nose, with richness and slightly aggressive dusty tannins on the midpalate, and a very long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Youthful cab merlot is elegant old-world rather than new-world fruity style, with a good long future (this should see eight years in excellent shape, with ever-softening profile). Great wine with a slant towards rich rare red meats at this point, yet destined to be a stand-alone complex silky wine in another five years. Very nicely done, good value despite the unusual size. (In a larger size I'd expect this to go ten years - the bigger the container, the slower the ageing, and the better the end result.)" lfw
