OTHER PRODUCTS:

Maréchal $12.50
Maréchal Foch and St. Croix grapes yield a medium bodied dry red wine. Our wine has a light oak character with a bouquet of cherries and spices. We recommend this wine with pasta, lamb or beef.

Pin Blanc $9.50
A blend of Seyval and Cayuga grapes. A dry white wine with a light apple bouquet made in the Chablis style. It is a good accompaniment with seafood.

Edelweiss $12.00
An aromatic blend of Geisenheim and Cayuga grapes. This is a fruity, semi dry white wine with a light muscat bouquet. Excellent as an aperitf but we also like to serve it with cheeses or chicken.

Made from frozen grapes harvested in mid-november . This is a sweet concentrated wine with complex nutty , apricot flavors and great length.

Gilles Benoit is famous in cold-climate grape growing circles for being one of the first growers to experiment with new varieties (left, Frontenac, click on picture to see enlargement). He is known best for being the first to make really good wine from one of the Elmer Swenson varieties which has been named Sabrevois in honour of the village where Vignoble des Pins is located. Despite being a long-standing member of the Quebec wine community (winery founded 1986), and no longer a spring chicken, I still consider Gilles a young and experimental winemaker with an urge to find out just how good Quebec wines can be...![]()
Further, I would like to quote from Tony Aspler (to right) in his book Vintage Canada "If you've ever dreamed of making wine, Gilles Benoit is the man you should visit. He has realized his dream: to plant a manageable five acre vineyard, stay small and make wines the way he wants to make them. Being small, he can take the time to experiment..."
