"DATE: 08-27-07 Appearance: Ruby - dark for gamay.
Nose: Dark cherry with strawberry, spicy oak and light chocolate, quite complex for gamay.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate nicely follows the nose adding rich ripe tannins midpalate. Long clean dusty dry finish.
Conclusions: A gamay trying to be a pinot, and in many ways succeeding. Should age well for five years, gaining complexity as it goes, and would work now with red meats that are done rare to medium rare, or BBQ fare. Also it would work nicely alone." lfw

Man that's one big bottle!!FOOD MATCHES: Chef Franklin said "wonderful young tannins that would hold its own with a great bloody steak rubbed down with a paste of green peppercorns, fresh herbs and salt. A must for carnivoires."

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"A light to medium bodied dry red, aged in French oak for 6 months, this is a fine example of the Ontario style of Gamay Noir - fruit forward and accessible.

This is a well rounded wine that will complement turkey, pheasant, pork chops or lamb. Drink now or cellar for 2 years."
