LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Off Dry Fruity White Wine
2004 Vidal
Tech Information: 08-13-07 $ 5.95 (S: 2 A: 12) Winery

"DATE: 08-28-07 Appearance: Pale lemon.
Nose: Lightish pear/peach/apricot and a touch of honey.
Palate: Off dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate is more flavourful than the nose, with citrus and mineral notes adding some midpalate complexity. Good clean finish.
Conclusions: Superb value at $5.95, another example of the great wines that are ageing away at Hernder, underpriced if any wine is. Not for long ageing, drink before 2009." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"From our own vineyards comes our 2004 vintage Vidal. Left on the vines until mid-November, the grapes developed a rich, golden hue which translated into a very aromatic off-dry wine. Hints of honey, muskmelon and a slight "peat" aroma are found in this wine. The top scoring "White Hybrid in the 2005 Ontario Wine Awards", this wine also has traces of apple and pear on the palate. A good backbone of acidity will help this wine to age gracefully over the next 5 years. Serve with seafood pasta in a cream sauce, 5 year old cheddars, poultry with savoury stuffing (or with a good friend!)."
