" RETASTED 03-28-08 Wine has mellowed somewhat, and may last until the end of 2009

DATE: 08-24-07 Appearance: Pale lemon.
Nose: Light clean grassy/hay/gooseberry notes, more old-world than new.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, light to midweight. Palate nicely follows the nose, but is more powerful than expected. Some spicy oak (?) midpalate, with dusty tannins and an austere mouthfeel. Good clean finish has a bit of warmth.
Conclusions: Light Loire-ish sauvignon blanc for food and aperitif use, and for current consumption (by end of 2008). Would work with all the usual white-wine suspects due to good acidity and moderate flavour profile. Made to win at the table rather than at the wine awards." lfw
