LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Medium Bodied Red Wine
2005 Estate Pinot Noir
Tech Information: 07-02-07 $ 35.00 (S: 0 A: 13.6) Winery

"DATE: 07-14-07 Appearance: Light ruby.
Nose: Light strawberry, cherry and plum with spices and sweet oak notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Palate flavours greatly exceed the nose (see below) but show properly. Ripe dusty tannins show up midpalate with a silky richness. Very long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Nose is light-ish at this stage, showing correct pinot character but probably what I would describe as "in the valley". This is a temporary condition that good pinot is subject to where the original fermentation aromas subside before the richer, secondary bouquet arrives due to bottle ageing. For a while the wine goes "dumb". Try again in a year or so and it will be quite different. Overall this sweetheart of a pinot should make ten years easily." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Light garnet red. With an intense and complex nose showing sour cherry, raspberry, violet, clove and cedar. Medium body with nice fleshy mid palate and fine grainy tannins. The palate shows good concentration of sour cherry and violet with some cedar notes."
