LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Medium Bodied Red Wine
2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
Tech Information: 12-06-07 $ 24.95 (S: 0 A: 13) Winery

"DATE: 01-01-08 Appearance: Deep ruby.
Nose: Clean aromatics include raspberry, cassis, pepper, spicy oak, black cherry and a light herbal/earthy character.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Nice follow through from the nose to the palate, with dusty tannins and a bit of silkiness showing on the midpalate. Finish is a bit peppery, long, dry and clean.
Conclusions: Good Cab sauv from a cool climate in a cool year, capable of long ageing (10 years) and it will take three to start opening up. Best now with rare meats or tomato sauces, it will develop stand-alone character in six or seven years." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Seductive styling. An inviting ruby-purple in colour, our county crafted claret displays youthful cabernet flavours. This ’05 cab unveils a core of wild berry, ripe plum, spice and rich crushed black fruit aromas. It’s enhanced by a firm tannic structure and marked by discreet sage, nutmeg and dry oak notes on an appealing finish."
