"DATE: 09-09-08 Appearance: Light straw.
Nose: Baked apple, spicy oak, vanilla, butterscotch, tropical fruit, quite inviting and clean.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Palate nicely follows the nose, with a mineral quality and a nutty character added on the midpalate, some silkiness, and a long clean dry (and surprisingly almost austere!) finish.
Conclusions: Quite ageworthy chardonnay is midrange in style (neither unoaked nor heavily oaked), elegant would be the word. Should go six to eight years, developing weight and deeper flavours as it ages. Suitable to black tie dinners, very high quality." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Sultry and wanton. The spotlight is on this all-Prince Edward County Huff Estates performer from our South Bay vineyard. It delivers a creamy, concentrated richness displaying aromas of exotic spice, vanilla and pineapple tart. Full-bodied in style, our ’06 chardonnay reveals layers of ripe fig, apricot, toasted hazelnut and smokey oak that fan out and caress the palate leading to a long haunting finish."
