John Howard SonOfabitch 2004 Pinot Noir   a link to the VQA website

wine chemistry at work Tech Information: 08-16-07 $ 24.95 (S: 0 A: 12.4) Winery

"DATE: 08-24-07 Appearance: Ruby with hints of mahogany at the rim, good colour for pinot.
Nose: Strawberry, beet, raspberry, light spicy oak and a buttery/vanilla component.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus (good size for pinot). Fruit nicely follows the nose, adding a bit of earthiness and dark cherry on the midpalate, with deft spicy oak, ripe tannins and some silkiness. Nicely balanced fruit/oak/alcohol lead to a very long dry clean finish.
Conclusions: Appealing pinot is good already, but will age into a silky masterpiece in about another four years, and live to 2014. Wonderful wine well suited to a black tie dinner, worth the price (I fear that this will become expensive as time goes by and the reputation grows). Ignore the humour in the name, this is no sob wine. (My grudge is that the AGCO won't allow me to use the word "littlefatwino" on a charity label, yet approves "sonofabitch", "fat bastard", "mother clucker", "cats pee" etc".) lfw
