"DATE: 08-13-08 Appearance: Ruby.
Nose: Raspberry, plum, black cherry, chocolate, coffee, cedar, spicy oak, complex, somehow "sweet".
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Big merlot is more austere on the palate than the nose suggests, but everything is there. Big rich mouthfeel and dusty tannins on the midpalate, finish is very long, clean and dry.
Conclusions: Big Merlot slowly coming into its own is good now but will improve for another six years. Try it now with a big red meat dish, and by itself in front of the fireplace in January 2011." lfw
