KCMS has been chosen for 2001 by the marketing boards (OGGMB and the OTFPMB) to continue to provide unbiased IPM advisory services by developing and delivering the regional agriphone report for Niagara and in Southwestern Ontario.
KNOWLEDGE - more than 25 years of in field experience as a research associate, advisor and specialist in pest management and crop nutrition and complete program delivery. Staff has experience in all aspects of commercial tender fruit and grape production -from planting to spraying to harvest.
COMMITMENT - to the needs of the industry through ongoing training and working with all sectors of the industry professionally and with integrity.
EXPERIENCE - undertaking research each year and delivery of complete crop monitoring programs with strong connections to the research and extension community throughout Canada and internationally. KCMS staff has published in popular press, scientific journals, and international symposia proceedings and produced factsheets on grapes and tender fruit used locally and internationally.
TEACHING - Kevin Ker is an Industrial Associate with the Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (CCOVI) at Brock University teaching the 4th year course on Grape Pest Management (IPM) as well as co-teaching the Grapevine Biology course (vine physiology, soils, nutrition, etc) since program inception.
