"DATE: 09-12-08 Appearance: Inky deep purple, almost opaque.
Nose: Ripe dark fruit on the nose - blackberry, black raspberry, cassis - to go with smoky oak, light chocolate and great intensity, almost a brooding nose.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, heavyweight. Palate nicely follows the nose, with rich dusty tannins on the midpalate. Complexity is building on the long clean dry finish as well, with a hint of pleasant earthiness on the aftertaste
Conclusions: Big blend works really well, nicely balanced, should age well for up to ten years. A great argument for red hybrids in Nova Scotia and the East in general. Very nicely done." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"A red blend of 40% Leon Millot, 40% Foch and 20% Luci Kuhlmann elevated with wine from dried grapes in a dry Ripasso style. Grape drying is an old traditional European method to enhance wine quality and has added richness to this blend. Aged for 16 months in premium oak barrels."
