LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Medium Bodied Red Wine
2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
Tech Information: 10-10-07 $ 14.95 (S: 0 A: 13) Winery

"DATE: 10-26-07 Appearance: Deep ruby.
Nose: Cassis, sweet oak, raspberry, cedar, blueberry, spicy/light chocolate.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Again big for the buck, palate nicely follows the nose with a fruit-driven midpalate, and dusty tannins showing on the long clean quite dry finish.
Conclusions: Starts off as a modern Cab but midpalate switches to a more elegant, traditional style of wine. Should do well for up to eight years in the cellar, very good value for an ageworthy wine. Not quite ready for prime time yet, but try it in 2009. Drink now with a rare steak or strong cheese." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"A VQA wine. Medium to full-bodied with hints of chocolate, red berry and spice. A lean and complex palate with many layers of flavour and a firm tannic backbone with a nice spicy finish. This wine is ready for consumption now and will age nicely over the next several years."
