"DATE: 06-07-07 Appearance: Straw.
Nose: Pear/apple fruit, butter, sweet oak and something tropical.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Big fruit, butter and oak lead the attack. Dusty tannins and vanilla show up midpalate, with a creamy feeling on the long clean finish.
Conclusions: Excellent value mid-oaked chardonnay exhibits character often seen in wines costing double this amount. Nicely balanced wine has three years in front of it, but is drinking nicely now." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Roughly half of the total wine was introduced into new American oak barrels and left to age in the barrel for just over three months. This Chardonnay is golden in colour with a bouquet of soft apple, pear and a hint of honeydew melon, citrus and coconut mingled with rich oak notes of vanilla, butterscotch and caramel. The palate is rich and very smooth, with mild citrus fruit rounded out by flavours of pear and tropical melon, finishing with creamy oak flavours. Beautifully balanced, short to medium length. Can age up to four or five years.."
