Merit (50%)...A quick note about 2007. It took until September for Vintages to find 100 Canadian wines worth selling... It only took until January 20 to surpass their first 150 imports, yet in the 2002-03 Annual Report the LCBO stated
“The goals of the partnership are to build Ontario wines’ market share in litres to 50 per cent over the next five years, including sales through winery retail stores and direct delivery to licensees, and support the industry’s efforts to create a world-class brand.”
It is going to be one hell of a miracle to reach 50% Ontario wines THIS YEAR AS PROMISED, when Canadian (including non-Ontario) has only been listed to the tune of 5.5% up to September 1st!

Drop me a line with your comments at littlefatwino@trytel.net Note also that as of this date the Classics, the "upper" end of Vintages, has only recommended 2 out of 350 Canadian wines, way below 1%. Is this how they intend to reach 50%? How stupid can we be??
