"DATE: 08-28-07 Appearance: Deep ruby.
Nose: Plum, cherry, cassis, smoky oak and an herbal component.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Big flavours follow the nose, adding something lemony and mineral to the ripe tannins on the midpalate. Long clean finish.
Conclusions: Big young modern merlot is quite drinkable now, but should reward the patient collector in five years. Tannins will integrate with the fruit and acid by then, and this will be a real showpiece. Right now it would work with a rare cut of beef." lfw
